Hudson Quarter

George Hudson's Railway Station

In 1840 York's first train station designed by George Hudson was opened on the site and housed York and North Midlands Railway. The quick expansion of the rail industry meant a new railway station was required and York's current railway station was built in 1871.

Hudson House

In the 1960s a concrete office block called Hudson was built which originally house the headquarters of British Rail's Eastern Region. The office block was demolished in 2018.

Hudson Quarter

In April 2021 Hudson Quarter was opened consisting of four new buildings. Three blocks of apartments called Kings, Victoria and Waverley were built along with an office block called HQ Offices.
